Scott and Michele Kendall purchased Butterfield Brewing Company in February 2000. Butterfield’s started in the Spring of 1989 with award winning Brewmaster Kevin Cox in the heart of the historical Tower District, Fresno, California. They changed the name to Sequoia Brewing Company in October of 2003 to wholesale their beer. The Micro Brewing Company and Restaurant with outdoor dining is known as a neighborhood icon in Fresno; offering their award winning ales and lagers, great food and a full bar with patio.
A second location with a mountain lodge atmosphere, rock fireplace and a patio was opened in Northeast Fresno in July of 2005 at Piazza del Fiore at Champlain and Perrin. The North location offers the same great beers on tap, menu and full bar.
In 2010 Andrew Ford replaced Kevin Cox, who went on to become head brewmaster at Tioga-SequoiaBrewig Co in downtown Fresno. Sequoia Brewing Company and Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Company are two separately owned and operated companies that have partnered together to bring fresh local craft beer to the San Joaquin Valley.
Sequoia’s menu offers great food with the freshest ingredients, serves Angus Beef, fresh daily fish, prepares their sauces and items from scratch. Sequoia offers a menu for all ages in a warm and comfortable atmosphere, where everyone knows your name.
Sequoia is a hot spot for live music featuring the best local bands and a private party rooms at both locations.
Sequoia Brewing at both locations caters at “Your place or theirs” with food and their beers. You can book a Taps and Apps party in the private room at Tower location or for any event or meeting you may have. Both locations have a full bar offering some unique and delicious specialty drinks along with a wine list.
